Hon. Minister of Labour, James Hoth and the World Bank recently in the University of Juba (Samani Hall) called for vibrant jobs opportunities to be introduced to support jobless youths in South Sudan. The appealed was centered to private sector in a launch of 2022 South Sudanese Economic Monitoring toward a job agenda.
In attendants, Undersecretary of Public Service & Human Resource Development, Dr. Julia Aker Duany, Vice Councilor of University of Juba, Pro. Dr. John Akech, Executive Director of NGOs Forum, Dr. Ojara Pius, TAWO, Finella Ayam and many others were present.
Hon. Minister advised the private sector to revise their packages of services deliver to the beneficiaries that can enable citizens to sustain and progress; to address issues of unemployment in the Republic. The Ministry of Labour has 7 vocational training centers that are engaging youths to attain sustainable skills for development. “This is were we need World Bank to support us to equip youth with various skills to enable them be job creators in the country”. The Minister requested the World Bank to channel their support on getting better solution to address challenges of unemployment; to improve South Sudan economic. Hon. Minister reiterated that the ministry is engaging youths through vocational skills training and development in those functional centers in the country. “As a government we work to see that peace agreement is implemented”. Hoth added.
